about
Made up of Serra (guitar), Carolina (guitar) and Agustina (keys), Los Bitchos initially started off as a recording project after listening to a lot of Peruvian instrumental Cumbia from the 60s and 70s, citing Los Destello’s ‘A Patricia’ as the song that got them together as a band.
Carolina says "Cumbia was a huge genre in South America, almost as important as Britpop was in the UK, we grew up with it, so it's easy for us to write the rhythm & beats while Serra focuses on the killer loopy riffs.
Our sound can maybe be described as The Shadows on a Tequila-fuelled field trip to South America. We don't drink as much tequila though, we prefer whiskey. Unless someone is buying a round of Tequila, in that case we prefer Tequila."
The trio have already opened for the likes of The Parrots and Kikagaku Moyo and performed their first headline show at The Lock Tavern last month.
Tripping Party / FFF will be released via Blak Hand Records 14th October for Cassette Store Day.
